2010 has began on a frigid note for many in the center part of the nation - complete with snow and single digit or sub-zero temperature readings as far south as central Missouri.
Round 2 is coming by the middle of this week and will reach even further south - with temperatures as cold as 5 below zero possible in the valleys of northern Arkansas.
Teens will be possible in northern Louisiana.
Along with the cold will come a round of snow with several inches possible in the mid and southern Mississippi River valley - in places like Little Rock and Memphis.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Little Rock are saying this could be the coldest arctic outbreak in over a decade!
